Job summary

OU Health seeks an Experienced RN - Perioperative Specialty Coordinator for the OU Children’s Department: Pediatric OR. The RN III will lead nursing care, mentor staff, and ensure evidence-based perioperative practices in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Prerequisites include a Bachelor’s in Nursing, 5+ years of patient care, OK or compact RN licensure, BLS, and specialty certifications preferred. A comprehensive benefits package accompanies the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years of nursing patient care experience.
• Current RN license in OK or compact license.
• Basic Life Support certification upon hire; specialty certs preferred.
• Ability to mentor, lead and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and nursing standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses and changes in physician orders.
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor procedures.
• Serves as a resource for complex procedures and treatments.
• Monitors patient data and intervenes as needed.
• Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivers patient care and mentors junior staff.
• Communicates with patients' families about care plans.
• Assists in staffing planning and delegates tasks appropriately.
