Job summary

Children's Mercy is seeking an OR-staff nurse to deliver specialized perioperative care for Level 0–4 procedures in a hospital setting. The nurse will use the nursing process, educate families, and advocate for patient needs while coordinating with the care team in a safe, family-centered environment.

Eligibility includes ADN; BSN preferred for newer hires, MO/KS RN licensure, and required life-support certifications.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred for all nurses hired after Sep 1, 2013.
• MO/KS RN license on hire; multi-state license / compact where applicable.
• Life Support certifications required upon hire; specialty certification encouraged.
• On-the-job training available for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care for Level 0–4 surgeries.
• Meet educational and informational needs of patient and family and advocate for their needs.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, family-centered perioperative environment.
• Utilize current research to improve nursing care quality and personal performance.
