Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking a Perioperative Clinical Educator (RN) to lead education programs for Surgical Services.

You will develop, implement and evaluate staff competency, ensure alignment with regulatory standards, and advance quality, safety, and patient outcomes through evidence-based practice. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, California RN license, CNOR within 12 months, minimum 2 years perioperative nursing and 1 year as an educator in acute care;

Qualifications

• CNOR required to be completed within 12 months of hire.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience in Perioperative Services and minimum one (1) year educator experience in an acute care setting, preferred.
• Current California Nursing license.
• Certification in Staff Development preferred.
• Experience with implementation of an EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in implementing Education Department goals aligned with MLKCH mission and strategic plan.
• Keeps education leadership informed of activities and programs.
• Participates in Surgical Quality Committee and supports Performance Improvement initiatives.
• Assists with annual educational needs assessment and program planning.
• Plans and implements unit-specific orientation for new staff in Perioperative Services.
• Develops/reviews policies, procedures, and unit-based competencies.
