CNOR certification must be completed within 12 months, and a California RN license is required. Two years of perioperative nursing and a year of education experience in acute care are preferred. Bilingual Spanish skills and EMR experience are advantageous.

Qualifications

• CNOR certification due within 12 months of hire.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing in Perioperative Services.
• Minimum 1 year educator experience in acute care (preferred).
• Current California Nursing license.
• Staff Development certification preferred.
• Experience with EMR implementation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Education Department goals aligned with mission and strategic plan.
• Inform Director and Sr. Director of Education about activities and proposals.
• Participate in Surgical Quality Committee and provide data for PI.
• Assist with annual educational needs assessment and program planning.
• Plan unit-specific orientation for new Perioperative staff.
• Develop, review and revise Policies, Procedures and Protocols.
• Develop unit-based competencies and ensure staff competency.
• Collaborate on educational presentations and orientation for new hires.
• Promote evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
