Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse - Operating Room at the Abington campus. The position requires 24 hours per week with a day shift, and completion of Periop 101 preferred.

The RN will apply the nursing process to address physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of diverse patients. Joint patient and family collaboration is essential throughout care planning and delivery.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Knowledge of patient- and family-centered care and collaboration with patients and care partners.
• Understanding of cultural diversity and respectful communication.
• Good communication skills to convey information to patients, families, and the care team.
• Knowledge of discharge planning, post-discharge needs, and education for patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, families, and staff, applying evidence-based practices in care delivery.
• Identify learning needs of patients and families and provide understandable education.
• Use information technology to communicate and monitor care outcomes.
• Work within nursing and inter-professional teams to coordinate safe, compassionate care.
• Participate in safety and quality improvement activities and committees.
• Provide opportunities for professional growth and act as a preceptor when appropriate.
