Job summary

SCA Health, part of Optum, is hiring a Registered Nurse Pre-Assessment Testing in Savannah, GA. You’ll evaluate preoperative data, coordinate patient clearance, and educate patients on perioperative plans to ensure safe, efficient outcomes.

You will promote SCA Health values and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality perioperative care, while maintaining patient safety and privacy throughout the care continuum.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and an active RN license in good standing.
• One year of pre-op, PACU, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience required.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment (or current).
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment (or current).
• PALS certification required if pediatric care is included.
• Specialty perioperative or perianesthesia nursing certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Describe pathophysiology of common disease processes and anesthesia-related physiology.
• Develop perianesthesia care plans and communicate patient status across care continuum.
• Review preoperative data and coordinate clearance for procedures.
• Educate patients on medications and perioperative instructions.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
• Provide patient advocacy and protect patient rights and privacy.
• Perform hand-offs with accurate, concise documentation to the team.
