Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse Pre-Assessment Testing to support preoperative evaluation and perioperative planning in a dynamic clinical setting. You will assess patient history, review tests, and develop a personalized care plan for the perianesthesia phase, coordinating with physicians and referral sources.

You will educate patients on medications and preparations for anesthesia, follow safety protocols, and provide comprehensive nursing care through the perioperative continuum.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of pre-op, PACU, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing.
• Successful completion of BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of PALS if pediatric care is included.
• Perioperative or perianesthesia nursing certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Describe pathophysiology of common diseases and anesthesia techniques.
• Develop individualized perianesthesia care plans and communicate ongoing status.
• Assess medical history and surgical plan; review preoperative tests.
• Serve as initial contact for referrals to screen and clear patients.
• Educate patients on medications to take on the day of surgery.
• Ensure safety, operate equipment properly, and report unsafe situations.
• Provide nursing care and monitoring per policy; maintain wound integrity.
