Job summary

UF Health is seeking a Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized nursing care during perioperative phases. The RN will utilize the nursing process, serve as charge nurse when assigned, and maintain accountability for assigned patients under the Nurse Manager.

Collaboration with Surgical Technologists and anesthesia staff is expected. Qualified candidates will have at least an Associate's Degree in Nursing, with BSN within three years or a BSN preferred, and hold Florida nursing

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed to practice nursing in Florida.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required.
• ACLS from the American Heart Association required.
• PALS required within 6 months from date of hire/transfer.
• Fellowship RNs must obtain ACLS and PALS within six months of hire or transfer.
• Effective March 19, 2024 ACLS and PALS are not required for OR Admin and North Surgery Center.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to patients in select phases of perioperative care using the nursing process.
• Performs staff nurse duties and acts as charge nurse when assigned.
• Maintains accountability for assigned patients under supervision of Nurse Manager; may delegate tasks to other staff.
