Job summary

San Juan Regional Medical Center is seeking a Perioperative Services Scheduler to accurately receive and enter provider requests and communicate scheduling information to perioperative services staff. This role supports patient care by ensuring the surgery schedule integrity and coordinating with surgeons, anesthesia, and support teams.

The incumbent will input data from multiple sources, maintain the Schedule Board, and uphold our Service Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in English.
• PC literate.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Ability to meet physical demands as stated in - "Physical Demands" section.

Responsibilities

• Receive information via fax, electronic file or phone and input to computer so all critical information is transmitted and communicated correctly, helping to ensure the best possible patient outcome.
• Work with office staff to ensure accurate information is provided in the most effective manner when scheduling cases.
• Provide procedure time information to the OR Supervisor, team leads and others requiring scheduling information.
• Work with Pre-Anesthesia Screening Services Staff to schedule appointments.
• Maintain scheduling strips on the Schedule Board to ensure all information is accurate.
• Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship.
• Other duties as assigned
