Job summary

MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center is seeking a Perioperative RN Coordinator to lead the daily clinical operations of the perioperative services department, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing leadership, and support services to optimize patient outcomes and regulatory compliance.

The role promotes evidence-based practice, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement throughout the perioperative continuum including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and SC RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years perioperative nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily workflow and patient throughput in the perioperative department.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing leadership to optimize scheduling and case progression.
• Monitor OR schedules and adjust staffing based on patient volume and acuity.
• Serve as clinical resource and mentor for perioperative nursing staff.
• Assist with complex surgical procedures while maintaining competency.
• Ensure safe, evidence-based perioperative care and comprehensive patient assessments.
