Job summary

Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA seeks a Nurse Practitioner / RNFA to provide perioperative support and first-assisting services to surgeons and the surgical team. This APN will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative nurses to promote safe, efficient surgical care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Pennsylvania licensure as a CRNP.
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patient-centered care.
• At least one year experience as an RNFA in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-assisting services during surgical procedures within scope of training and privileges.
• Assist surgeons with exposure, hemostasis, tissue handling, suturing, wound closure, and intraoperative activities.
• Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient care.
• Collaborate with surgeons and perioperative team for coordinated surgical care.
• Maintain sterile environment and adhere to infection prevention and OR safety standards.
• Assist with patient positioning, prep, equipment readiness, and instrument verification.
• Monitor patient needs and communicate concerns to the team.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation per hospital policies.
• Participate in time-outs, patient identification, specimen handling, and safety protocols.
• Maintain professional communication with patients, families, surgeons, and team.
• Engage in orientation, competency validation, and ongoing professional development.
