Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking an RN to provide direct nursing care in a complex care setting at our Main Campus. The role follows the Community RN Career Direct Care Pathway with four levels, from 0–12 months up to 8+ years of experience.

Shifts are 36 hours with day/evening coverage, plus on-call requirements. The RN Complex Care role requires MA licensure, BLS, and unit-specific certifications as applicable, with BSN preferred for advanced progression.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required.
• Department-specific certifications may be required by the unit.
• Experience varies by RN level I–IV.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Evaluates and applies evidence-based practice into clinical care.
• Conducts and documents accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates patient care plans.
• Uses nursing judgment to individualize care plans.
• Manages patient assignments based on needs and staff skills.
• Develops educational plans for patients and families with documentation.
• Supports discharge planning with referrals and resources.
• Precepts and mentors new staff members.
• Participates in departmental committees as needed.
