Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking an RN II to independently provide direct nursing care to patients and families in accordance with policies and best practices. The role requires Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS certification, with BSN preferred.

Per diem shifts on the Main Campus Special Care Nursery offer opportunities to apply advanced nursing skills and contribute to care planning and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure required.
• 12 months to <3 years RN experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Department-specific certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Integrates evidence-based practice into clinical care.
• Conducts accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops and evaluates individualized plan of care.
• Uses nursing judgment to tailor the plan of care.
• Manages own patient assignment by delegating based on patient needs.
• Develops an educational plan for patient/family with resources.
• Supports patient rights and informed decisions.
• Revises care plan as patient health status changes.
• Develops discharge plans and referrals (community resources).
• Precepts and mentors new staff; supports unit development.
• Guides professional growth through departmental involvement.
• Participates in departmental committees.
