Job summary

University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a full-time Patient Transporter for Perioperative Services / Surgery / OR UTower. Duties include transporting patients, verifying IDs, and assisting with patient movement and room turnover. Flexible evenings and weekends may be required.

High school diploma and 1 year of experience are expected. The role supports nursing staff and maintains sterile, orderly surgical areas while adhering to hospital policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients from their rooms to various hospital areas.
• Verify patient identification band, chart, and sending slip for safety.
• Assist patients to and from stretchers and help with positioning.
• Assist nursing staff with patient positioning and skin prep.
• Clean and prepare the surgical suite; disinfect stretchers between patients.
• Restock supplies and support department in inventory management.
• Maintain cleanliness of the surgical suite and operating rooms after procedures.
