Job summary

University of Miami is seeking a full-time Patient Transporter to support perioperative services and the OR. The role ensures safe patient movement, verifies identity and charts, and assists nursing staff with positioning and transfers.

Responsibilities include preparing the surgical suite, disinfecting stretchers, restocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness. Evening, night, and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients from rooms to various areas of the hospital.
• Verify patient identification band, chart, and sending slip for patient safety.
• Assist patients to and from the stretcher.
• Assist nursing staff with patient positioning and skin preps.
• Clean and prepare surgical suite; disinfect stretchers between patients.
• Restock department supplies and maintain orderly work areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of the surgical suite and operating rooms at day end.
