Job summary

Fort Sanders Perinatal Center, part of Covenant Health, provides administrative coverage for patient service functions within the physician practice. The role greets and directs visitors, gathers information from patients, and facilitates arrival processes.

Responsibilities include scheduling, registration, insurance verification, chart preparation, and collaboration with providers and care teams to ensure efficient operations and a high-quality patient experience at our Knoxville locations.

Qualifications

• One (1) year customer facing/customer service and/or medical office experience preferred.
• Must have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain departmental policies, procedures, quality and safety standards.
• Schedule patient visits with providers following procedures and protocols.
• Complete registration: reason for visit, demographics, and insurance verification.
• Prepare patient chart and encounter form; obtain necessary authorizations for billing/treatment.
• Receive and record changes in patient information.
• Familiar with insurance procedures; know plans the provider participates with.
• Assist in filing medical records as requested or needed.
• Engage in educational programs and workshops for growth.
• Collaborate with patient, physician, and care team as part of team-based care.
