Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist obstetric and operative teams in the delivery suite and OR. Under RN supervision, you will prepare rooms, pass instruments, maintain sterility and support patient comfort in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time hybrid role requires completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program and NBSTSA certification is preferred. You will work 36 hours per week on evening shifts and join a team committed to PFCC and high-quality

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Completion of an accredited or military Surgical Technologist program is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the care of the childbearing mother and newborn under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist obstetrical team during the delivery process and operative procedures.
• Assist RN in all stages of labor to ensure safe delivery.
• Prepare operative rooms and sterile equipment, pass instruments and sponges to the team.
• Inventory and transport instruments and supplies to/from processing areas.
• Assist with patient transfer and positioning as needed.
• Follow cases offsite if VVWH patient; other duties as assigned.
