Job summary

Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor seeks a Surgical Technologist to support obstetric teams, assist in the delivery and operative procedures, and ensure sterile technique and instrument readiness in the OR. Under RN supervision, you will prepare procedure rooms, pass instruments and sponges, manage instrumentation for PFCC, and help transfer patients as needed.

Requires a high school diploma and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program; NBSTSA certification and obstetric experience

Responsibilities

• Assist the obstetrical team during the delivery process and operative procedures.
• Prepare operative procedure rooms, sterile equipment and pass instruments to the operating team.
• Ensure disposition of all surgical specimens to lab processing.
• Inventory and transport instruments and supplies to appropriate departments.
• Assist with patient transfer and positioning as needed.
• Communicate with patients, families and staff in a welcoming, professional manner.
