Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Michigan seeks a Surgical Technologist to support the OR team. You will prepare and handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during general to moderately complex procedures, and assist with patient preparation and transport.

Under supervision, you will respond to emergent situations, collaborate with surgeons and nurses, and help maintain safety and comfort for patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology program or six months specialized patient care training in the armed forces required.
• Knowledge of OR surgical procedures, practices and techniques in patient care.
• Current BLS certification required or to be obtained within one month of start date.
• Surgical Technologist certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Handle surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during general to moderately complex procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation and patient transport.
• Assist surgical care team with patient care duties to ensure safety and comfort.
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures.
