Job summary

YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Part-Time Performing Arts Instructor at the Tom Taylor Family YMCA in Gig Harbor, WA. You will provide leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in performing arts across preschool through adult levels.

Responsibilities include developing progressive lesson plans, aligning with YMCA values, and communicating student progress. Background checks and training are required; benefits include memberships and professional development

Qualifications

• Background and reference checks required.
• 5 years performing arts training/experience.
• 1-2 years teaching/TA experience.
• Able to teach preschool–adult classes and diverse age groups.

Responsibilities

• Follow/Implement Association Quality Standards and 9 Dimensions of Well Being into Youth Programming and Staff Development.
• Create class lesson plans with progression reflecting abilities and ages and YMCA values.
• Ensure program materials/content are developmentally appropriate and reflect YMCA mission.
• Provide lesson plans, supply list, and budget to Arts Director as requested.
• Participate in performances, Y Arts Week events and other YMCA events as assigned.
• Effectively communicate program information and student progress as needed.
