Job summary

YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking an Exercise Instructor to lead group exercise classes at the Tom Taylor Family YMCA in Gig Harbor. This part-time position offers up to 25 hours per week, with evenings and weekends required, and pays $19.23 to $19.73 per hour depending on qualifications.

You will promote member safety and engagement, design classes across fitness components, and help maintain equipment and Athletics program statistics.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in group exercise classes.
• Knowledge of core fitness components and best practices for group exercise instruction.
• Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fun, safe and educational classes.
• Design classes to improve flexibility, strength, muscular endurance, and cardio-respiratory conditioning.
• Demonstrate techniques with different intensity levels.
• Build relationships with members.
• Maintain equipment organization.
• Assist in compiling program statistics.
