Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties seeks a part-time Gymnastics Instructor for the Pearl Street Family YMCA in Tacoma, WA. You will lead classes for children, plan progressive lessons and foster a safe, supportive environment.

You’ll collaborate with staff, follow safety rules, and promote YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Prior gymnastics instruction and CPR/First Aid certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of experience teaching gymnastics.
• Positive attitude and experience with children of all ages.
• Knowledge and skills to instruct gymnastics and age-appropriate techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans with progression appropriate to the gymnast's age and ability.
• Instruct gymnasts in a safe and fun manner.
• Outline class lesson plans to keep children moving.
• Enforce all safety rules and gym regulations.
• Finish each class with a fun group activity.
• Incorporate YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
