The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a part-time Music Instructor at the Tom Taylor Family YMCA in Gig Harbor, WA. The role focuses on creating an enjoyable learning environment to help students build a solid foundation in music and instruments.

Qualifications include 5 years of formal music training and 1-2 years as a music teacher or teaching assistant, with a preference for teaching across age groups from preschool to adult.

Qualifications

• 5 years of formal music training or comparable experience.
• 1-2 years of experience as a music teacher and/or teaching assistant.
• Preferred: Experience teaching classes preschool through adult.
• Positive attitude and experience with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans for music classes with progression matched to abilities and ages.
• Demonstrate sound, technical and artistic principles to students.
• Provide an impactful learning experience and monitor student progress.
• Communicate program information to students and parents.
