Job summary

PlusAI is seeking a Perception Validation Engineer to design and execute validation strategies ensuring AV perception accuracy and reliability. You will build automated pipelines, establish KPIs across vision and sensor stacks, and oversee high-fidelity ground-truth generation with automated labeling.

You will work at the cutting edge of AI and robotics, collaborating across teams to stress-test models, analyze failures, and contribute to safety cases and release readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field.
• 2+ years of professional testing/validation experience in robotics/autonomous systems or CV models.
• Strong Python and/or C++ programming skills.
• Experience with large-scale data manipulation and statistical evaluation.
• Knowledge of ROS/ROS2 and automotive safety standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define validation metrics for perception stacks (camera, LiDAR, radar, fusion).
• Build automated regression testing pipelines for perception models.
• Oversee ground-truth data generation and curation processes.
• Identify and catalog edge-case scenarios to stress-test perception systems.
• Collaborate with Perception ML to debug validation failures and inform data-driven fixes.
• Develop simulation toolchains and realistic sensor models for validation.
• Produce safety and validation documentation to support releases.
