Qualifications

• Certificate or Associate Degree from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Operating Room experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures.
• Perform scrub technologist and surgical assistant functions according to standards.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Anticipate surgeons' needs including instrumentation, sutures, sponges, suction, and electrosurgical equipment.
• Observe patients during procedures and assist with equipment and supplies for optimal outcomes.
• Assist as the surgeon's second assistant when appropriate and qualified.
• Handle and process surgical specimens according to Surgery Center policies.
• Maintain sterile fields and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Monitor inventory and support cost containment initiatives.
