Banner North Colorado Medical Center is seeking an Intraoperative Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room, preparing rooms and instruments, and ensuring a sterile environment. The role supports surgeons and the surgical team with instrument handling and aseptic technique.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge and current basic life support certification.
• Where applicable must be registered with State Regulatory Agency.

Responsibilities

• Selects and places surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery; scrubs and provides instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs; passes instruments, retracts tissue and operates equipment.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique and universal precautions; disposes of sharps and trash; counts and prepares instruments for cleaning.
• Ensures surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate.
• Assists with OR turnover and stocking of supplies; cleans operating rooms.
• May provide business support to the department including assigned administrative tasks.
• Participates in safety procedures, emergency call rotation, and maintains patient and staff safety.

Education
