Qualifications

• Certificate or Associate Degree from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Operating Room experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures.
• Scrub technologist and surgical assistant functions according to standards.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Anticipate surgeons' needs including instrumentation, sutures, sponges, suction, and electrosurgical equipment.
• Observe patients during procedures and assist with equipment and supplies.
• Assist as the surgeon's second assistant when appropriate and qualified.
• Maintain sterile fields throughout procedures.
• Sterilize instruments and equipment per protocols.
• Monitor inventory and supply levels; support cost containment.
