Job summary

Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, NJ is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for per diem shifts in the operating room. You will support RN staff, prep and sterilize instruments, maintain sterile technique, and assist in patient transfer and room turnover.

The role requires Surgical Technology education, certification (NCCT or NBSTSA), and BLS. Prior scrubbing experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field required or preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college program preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program is preferred.
• Certification through NCCT or NBSTSA is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operating room as a scrub tech under RN supervision.
• Prepare and break down instruments and ensure sterility of the field.
• Transfer patients to recovery and assist with room turnover.
• Maintain instrument counts and assist in draping and gowning.
• Pass instruments safely to the surgical team and support staff.
