Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care System is seeking a Surgical Tech to support the OR team in Hermiston, Oregon. The role covers preoperative preparation, intraoperative instrument handling, and postoperative room turnover, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety.

The position is per diem with employer-paid medical, dental, and vision premiums. Candidates may advance across Tech I–III with required education and certifications and a history of perioperative exposure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; structured scrub training.
• Tech II requires Associate degree or National Certification.
• Tech III requires Certified Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative: Don PPE, gather/open supplies, perform scrub, set up sterile field, counts, assist with gowning/draping, verify site.
• Intraoperative: Pass instruments, label meds, manage hemostasis, suction, assist with endoscopic/robotic steps, maintain sterile field.
• Postoperative: Decontaminate instruments, clean room, prep for next case.
