Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care is seeking a Surgical Tech for our Surgery-Hospital department in Hermiston, Oregon. This Per Diem position supports the operating room team by preparing sterile instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and assisting throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative duties.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, structured scrub training, and perioperative experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with structured scrub training (military example).
• Tech II: Associate degree or National Certification required.
• Tech III: Associate degree and Certified Surgical Technologist required.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative duties: prepare sterile instruments, open supplies, perform surgical scrub, set up sterile field and assist with draping and time-out verifications.
• Intraoperative duties: pass instruments, label medications, assist with endoscopic equipment, maintain sterile technique, and perform counts as needed.
• Postoperative duties: assist with decontamination and room turnover, prepare rooms for next patient.
• Other duties: maintain patient confidentiality, participate in education programs, stock supplies, and support hospital policies.
