Job summary

shm is seeking a Per Diem Surgical Technologist/OR Technician to join our surgical services team. You will assist physicians, maintain sterile fields, handle instruments and equipment, and support safe patient transfer and room turnover.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical competency in handling and passing instruments and supplies.
• Maintains sterile field and aseptic technique during procedures.
• Assists physician with equipment and monitors functioning prior to use.
• Assists in patient transfer and room preparation and manages turnover times.
• Performs counts and manages supplies with inventory control.
• Ensures safe environment and appropriate handling of drugs and solutions as policy dictates.
• Participates in continuing education and team meetings relevant to surgical services.
