Job summary

Northwestern Medical Center is seeking a per diem RN Shift Administrator (House Supervisor) to oversee hospital operations in the absence of leadership. The role concentrates on ensuring patient care quality, appropriate staffing, and regulatory compliance during evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, current VT RN license, and four years of recent clinical nursing with at least two years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field; current VT RN license.
• Four years of recent clinical nursing experience; minimum two years supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of patient care, staffing, and crisis management; ability to work evenings/nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assures adequate staffing and appropriate care levels and quality outcomes for all patients during assigned shifts.
• Forecasts staffing needs and reassigns personnel among units as needed; supports staff during crises.
• Maintains compliance with clinical objectives and quality measures; supports infection control and productivity goals.
• Provides reports and documentation as required; collects and shares data on patient needs and staffing levels.
• Manages staffing across non-clinical areas and coordinates with department managers.
