Responsibilities

• Acts as the administrative nursing liaison in the absence of the Director of Nursing and VP of Nursing/Clinical Support.
• Responsible for nursing activities and patient care issues within a shift or time.
• Ensures adequate staffing of nursing personnel.
• Provides education for quality patient care and elevates nursing knowledge under leadership.
• Represents nursing administration as the lead in hospital emergencies.
• Monitors staffing, resources, and care needs to ensure quality patient care.
• Supervises staff, including scheduling and evaluations, within a shift.
• Assists with interviews for nursing positions in coordination with HR.
• Delivers staff feedback and competency assessments annually.
• Ensures adherence to performance standards and initiates counseling when needed.
• Develops and updates department policies; coordinates with leadership on changes.
• Leads performance improvement activities and participates in process teams.
• Assists budgeting and supports final budget recommendations.
• Plans professional growth activities and ensures mandatory training compliance.
• Coordinates and leads all emergencies and non-routine events.
• Acts as liaison between nursing administration and staff; supports customer issues.
