Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is actively seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities throughout the Hampton Roads area. You choose when you work, picking up shifts or building a fuller schedule.

Per diem roles offer flexible scheduling with day and night shifts available in leading acute care hospitals. BLS, ACLS, and Virginia RN license are required, with vaccination status or exemptions as applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Active Virginia RN License.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.

PCU RN Requirements

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.
