First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities throughout the Hampton Roads area. You can pick up occasional shifts or build a fuller schedule, choosing when you work.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Current ACLS certification (AHA).
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required based on hospital assignment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs.

PCU RN Requirements

• Active Virginia RN License
