Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. You will choose shifts that fit your schedule, with day and night options and daily/weekly pay availability.

Requirements include active Virginia RN license, 2 years PCU experience in past 4 years, BLS and ACLS, current QuantiFERON-TB Gold, and COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption. Per diem roles offer flexible scheduling and hospital diversity.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association.
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and equipment for PCU patients.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt to different hospital environments and unit needs.

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)

• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.
