Job summary

DESC is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) for the CSC and ORCA Center in Seattle, WA. The role supports multidisciplinary teams delivering psychiatric and medical care to adults experiencing homelessness and those with Opioid Use Disorder.

The position involves coordinating medications, providing patient education, and participating in clinical reviews. Shifts include day and night rotations at two DESC locations; union representation is provided by SEIU Healthcare 1199NW.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Washington.
• Knowledge of psychiatric medications, side effects, and administration.
• Interest or experience working with adults experiencing homelessness or mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medical aspects of care for CSC and ORCA Center clients, including monitoring and administering medications.
• Provide patient education about treatment, medical and mental health conditions.
• Engage clients in health promotion activities and disease prevention programs.
• Assess mental status and monitor treatment effects; participate in team meetings and case conferences.
• Provide training and consultation to staff on medical/mental health issues.
• Assist in de-escalation and maintain a safe environment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
