Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies and nursing protocols.

You will coordinate care with the healthcare team, implement orders, and support discharge planning to ensure well-coordinated patient outcomes. Qualifications include labor and delivery experience, Connecticut RN license, and an Associate degree (BSN preferred).

Qualifications

• Must have labor and delivery experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition.
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Delivers individualized patient care addressing physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age-related needs.
• Delegates care to nursing staff to meet patient needs and maximize staff performance.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Develops and revises individualized plans of care.
• Participates in professional growth activities and other duties as assigned.
