Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a per diem Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join the Amsterdam Nursing Home team in New York, NY. You will work under a supervising physical therapist to deliver skilled rehab services in a state-of-the-art facility.

As a PTA, you’ll conduct treatments, document progress, and support residents’ goals with flexibility for evenings and weekends. This role offers weekly pay, mentorship, and growth opportunities within a collaborative healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current New York State PTA license.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort
