Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a per diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility at Amsterdam Nursing Home in New York, NY. The PTA will follow the plan of care provided by the supervising PT and support residents with therapeutic activities.

We offer mentorship, weekly pay, flexible schedules including evenings and weekends, and access to state-of-the-art technology to assist in patient care.

Qualifications

• A graduate of an accredited PTA Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document on resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort
