Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a per diem Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility in New York. The role offers competitive compensation, mentorship, and flexible schedules, including evening and weekend hours.

New grads are welcome as part of a supportive team with access to modern rehab technology. Responsibilities include selecting therapy activities per the plan of care, assisting residents with daily activities, and documenting outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• collaborate with the PT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort

Education
