Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is hiring a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment, provide exercise instruction and patient education under the plan of care in a home care setting. The role requires state licensure, a valid driver’s license, weekend availability, and CPR certification (or within 90 days).

You will participate in patient therapy, coordinate with the care team, and educate families and caregivers, thriving in a team-oriented environment with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and supervise the PT plan of care, performing only qualified procedures and suggesting changes.
• Instruct patients in active and passive exercises, gait, ADL, and prosthetic training.
• Observe and report patient responses, coordinate care with the health team.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver and health care team in therapy within the PT assistant scope.
• Function across diverse home situations regardless of background.
