The position requires BLS and PALS certifications and specialized pediatric critical care skills, including monitoring End-Tidal CO2, port access, and ventilated patient care.

Qualifications

• BLS and PALS certifications are required.
• RN licensure in NJ is assumed for per diem PICU shifts.
• Experience with vented patients and pediatric critical care is preferred.

Requirements:

• Required Certifications: BLS, PALS
• Required Skills: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, Accessing/Managing Ports, Acute/chronic renal failure, Administration of blood & blood products, Anti-Seizure Medications, Antiarrhythmics, Assist with lumbar puncture, Assist/manage intubation, BiPAP/CPAP management, Care of Ventilated Patient, Care/maintenance of acute airway, Central line blood draw, Continuous Sedation, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Hydrocephalus/VP shunt, Infection control/PPE, Insulin administration, Isolation Precautions/PPE, IV vasopressors, Management of gastric tubes, NG tube insertion/ management, Peritoneal dialysis/CAPD, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Pre/Post Hemodialysis, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Management of Chest Tubes, Pediatric Dosage Calculations, PICU, Use of Broselow system, Starting and maintaining IVs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, TPN/Lipids, Tracheostomy care, Urinary catheter insertion/management
