Job summary

Aya Healthcare is seeking a per diem PICU Registered Nurse for immediate PRN shifts in Newark, NJ. The role offers flexible scheduling, acute care exposure, and the chance to work with a supportive team. Start date is 10/12/2026, with 13-week assignments and Epic charting system.

Required are 1 year of RN experience, NJ license or Compact license, and BLS/PALS certifications. Nights are 2 per shift with a busy acute care hospital setting and patient ratios of Nights: 2 and Weekends: 2.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience required.
• BLS and PALS certifications required.
• NJ license or compact license required.
• Epic charting experience preferred.

  • Skills: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, Accessing/Managing Ports, Acute/chronic renal failure, Administration of blood & blood products, Anti-Seizure Medications, Antiarrhythmics, Assist with lumbar puncture, BiPAP/CPAP management, Care of Ventilated Patient, Care/maintenance of acute airway, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Continuous Sedation, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Hydrocephalus/VP shunt, Infection control/PPE, Isolation Precautions/PPE, IV vasopressors, Management of Chest Tubes, Management of gastric tubes, NG tube insertion/ management, Pediatric Dosage Calculations, Peritoneal dialysis/CAPD, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, PICU, Pre/Post Hemodialysis, Assist/manage intubation, Central line blood draw, Insulin administration, Starting and maintaining IVs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, TPN/Lipids, Tracheostomy care, Urinary catheter insertion/management, Use of Broselow system
