Job summary

Atrius Health in Plymouth, MA is seeking a Lab Associate for a per diem role in the Laboratory. You will collect blood and non-blood specimens, ensure accurate labeling, and support lab operations on an as-needed basis with open weekday and weekend availability.

Required high school/GED; preferred phlebotomy training and PBT certification, with 1+ year experience. Compensation includes a benefit-rich package and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program or equivalent.
• PBT certification preferred.
• 1+ year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• ACLS may be required based on specialty.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Familiarity with LIS/EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens by venipuncture, finger sticks, or heel sticks.
• Collect non-blood specimens such as urine or throat swabs as needed.
• Verify test requisitions and labeling for accuracy before collection.
• Prepare equipment and ensure proper safety and sterility.
• Identify patients, explain procedures, and address questions.
• Label, store, and transport specimens for lab processing.
• Maintain neat work area and restock supplies daily.
• Perform clerical tasks and assist in training staff as assigned.
