Job summary

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect and prepare specimens across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will verify patient info, explain procedures, and help ensure specimen integrity with accurate EHR entries.

Per diem role with varied locations (CMH Norwich, CMH Sidney) and on-site responsibilities. Depending on experience, compensation aligns with market rates and requires compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• NHA CPT certification or equivalent preferred.
• Driver License preferred; relevant experience welcomed (1 year or less).

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection for inpatients, outpatients, and off-site patients.
• Verify patient identity and orders before each draw to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Select appropriate collection equipment and assess patient factors for safe collection.
• Enter and verify lab orders in the EHR and resolve missing or conflicting details.
• Prioritize STAT, timed, and routine draws across multiple sites and rotations.
• Process, label, store, and transport specimens per procedures.
• Assist front-end lab operations including reception and supply management.
