Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• IV certification preferred.
• Registered technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or Pharmacy intern license.
• 1 year of Pharmacy experience required.

Responsibilities

• Answers the telephone and front window.
• Compounds products in IV Lab using sterile, aseptic technique.
• Gathers items needed for requisitions, orders, crash carts, for pharmacist review.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area; restocks medications and space.
• Assists in maintaining inventory levels by notifying purchasing when items are low.
• Maintains drug storage systems and unit inspections outside the department.
• Makes rounds to nursing units for medication delivery and order pickups.
• Performs charges and credits for stock and returned meds in the computer system.
• Processes medications in OR, IV lab, first fill areas for final dispensing.
