Require High School Diploma or equivalent, Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration, and 1 year of pharmacy experience. Hospital pharmacy experience preferred; confidentiality and patient privacy are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Registered technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• 1 year of Pharmacy experience required.
• Hospital Pharmacy experiences preferred.
• Computer skills preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Answers the telephone and front window.
• Compounds products in IV Lab using sterile, aseptic technique.
• Gathers items needed for requisitions and orders to be checked by pharmacist prior to dispensing.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area; restocks returned medications and inventory.
• Assists in maintaining inventory levels by notifying purchasing when items are low.
• Maintains drug storage systems and unit inspections outside the department.
• Makes rounds to nursing units for delivery of medications and pickup of discontinued medications.
• Processes medications in assigned area into the computer system for dispensing.
