Northwell Health's Danbury Hospital is seeking a per diem Patient Access clerk to ensure a smooth, one-touch registration experience. You will verify demographics, obtain insurance details, and help secure payment sources for services.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling, verifying eligibility, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies. Shifts include weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma with at least 2 years job-related experience.
• Associate degree with 6 months experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a related role is preferred.
• Basic MS Word and MS Excel required.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.
• NAHAM certification within one year of hire is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and staff, check in, and direct to appointment locations.
• Respond to calls per customer service standards and provide information.
• Search for patient records in the EMPI to ensure correct identification.
• Schedule appointments following protocols and update scheduling systems.
• Enter demographic and financial information and verify insurance eligibility.
• Obtain required signatures and maintain HIPAA and policy compliance.
