UnitedHealth Group’s Optum is hiring a Per Diem Patient Access Representative Associate for the Allina Health account at Minneapolis. You will greet patients, collect demographics and insurance details, and guide them through registration.

The role supports financial counseling, verifies coverage, collects co-pays, and documents in EMR. Per diem shifts including evenings/weekends, with a $16–$29 hourly rate; opportunities for training and growth within a diverse, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work day & evening hours, Monday - Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training schedule.
• Per Diem availability on 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift, including weekends.
• Must be 18 years of age OR older.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients in person; collect demographics and insurance information.
• Checks in and interviews patients to complete appropriate paperwork; verifies eligibility.
• Directs patient to their appointment or procedure; assists in scheduling add-on appointments; documents in EMR.
• Explain costs and financial assistance options; collects co-pays/deductibles.
• Provide customer service for inbound/outbound calls; mentor staff as needed.
